Before you buy
My game has no reviews yet. Does this still work?
Yes. The report reads your competitors’ reviews, not yours, and checks what it finds against your store page. A Coming Soon page works.
Which competitors should I pick?
Games a player would compare with yours: the same genre and tags, a similar price, ideally released in the last few years. Each needs at least 50 Steam reviews. Include at least one game close to your size: players judge a hit with 20,000 or more reviews differently from a small indie, and the picker warns you when a pick is far bigger than your game.
How many reviews do you read?
A sample, not all of them. For each competitor: up to 200 of the most recent reviews, 100 recent negative reviews and 150 of the most helpful reviews from the past year, plus 25 extra recent negative reviews in each of up to 2 languages that score well below the game’s overall score. Very short and joke reviews are dropped. Review scores and language figures come from Steam’s own totals, not from the sample, and the report states exactly how many reviews and threads it read for each game.
Where does the data come from?
Public Steam user reviews and each game’s public Steam discussion board. Quotes are copied word for word and each one is checked against the review it came from. The report never shows reviewer names or profiles.
How is the report made and delivered?
Premium covers 2 to 5 competitors; we review and edit it by hand before it reaches you, within 5 business days, as a web report and a PDF.
Is this a subscription?
